Framed and stamped Oshie style handcrafted wall art from Japan in good vintage condition.
Oshie is a traditional form of folk art that has been around since the Edo period. It is a form of 'pressed picture' either composed of kimono fabric scraps or wood block printed Chiyogami paper.
This beautiful piece is 34 cm wide, 34 cm tall and 4.5 cm deep, weighing about 1.4 kg unpacked. The frame has a glass cover and is in good intact condition. There is some surface wear on the frame that is age consistent. The bottom right corner has the artist's stamp.
