Vintage circa 1980s table lamp, 'Bankers', by the designer Robert Sonneman for the Dutch company BOXFORD in gold tone metal with dimmer switch and round tempered glass for optimal diffusion of light.
This iconic design is also known as a 'Saturn Lamp' or a 'UFO Lamp', and is hard to find in good working condition with the tempered glass intact.
There is normal age-consistent wear on the metal parts, but nothing excessive or distracting. As shown in pictures, there is some wear around the dimmer on the base and some surface wear on the top dome.
There are no cracks, chips or repairs on the glass shade. The dimmer works well and the wiring is for North America.
The lamp is 46 cm tall and the round tempered glass shade has a diameter of 41 cm. It weighs a hefty 5.3 kg unpacked, which means the shipping is likely to be expensive.
