The Locke & Co porcelain factory was founded in Worcester, England in 1896 by Edward W. Locke, who was a former employee of 'Royal Worcester.' In 1901, Locke was taken to court by Royal Worcester for using the word 'Worcester' on its products, and was forced to pay damages, as well as having to change its backstamp. The company eventually ceased its operations in 1914 due to financial difficulties. Although short-lived, Licke & Co was known for it high quality products and its distinctive blush ivory glaze.
The globe backstamp on the underside for 'Locke & Co Ltd Shrub Hill Works Worcester England' was used between 1896 and 1902.
