Mid-century modern stoneware teapot handmade and hand-painted by the acclaimed Danish ceramicist Karen Margrethe Karberg (1913-1987) at her studio in Horsens, Denmark.
It showcases Karberg’s signature geometric abstraction with a matte fajance glaze in earthy tones of olive green and a beautifully balanced original woven rattan/cane-wrapped handle.
The teapot measures 14 cm tall, 29 cm wide spout to handle, and 18 cm deep, weighing about 550 grams unpacked.
The underside is signed with the authentic hand-painted "KMK" monogram cypher and inscribed "Danmark".
Condition (Please Read):
Overall, this piece is in good vintage condition with some minor cosmetic signs of use. The hand-painted glaze remains vibrant and the original wrap on the handle is intact, secure, and tightly bound. The interior is free of stains and shows minimal signs of previous use. There are no hairline cracks or structural repairs.
Please note the two minor cosmetic flaws (closely documented in the photos with red arrows):
A small chip on the underside of the spout tip, and another small chip on the top outer rim of the lid.
The listing price has been adjusted downward to reflect these imperfections.
