Beautifully handcrafted Ascension of Jesus statue, meticulously shaped from authentic olive wood, depicting Christ ascending with open arms. Every angle reveals unique, high-contrast wood grain ribbons and warm amber tones that only genuine aged olive heartwood can provide.
This is a classic example of traditional Christian workshop folk art. To accommodate the wide, dramatic stance of Jesus’s outstretched arms, the artisan beautifully utilized a standard multi-piece construction—seamlessly joining the arms to the main torso block at the cuffs and shoulders. The robe trims feature hand-chiseled cross-hatched details, and the entire figure is finished with a smooth, semi-gloss protective coat that perfectly catches the light and seals the wood.
It is 30 cm tall, 19 cm wide and 8 cm deep, weighing about 500 grams unpacked.
Excellent vintage/pre-owned condition. The wood is dense, heavy, and structurally sound. There is some age-consistent surface wear. There are no chips, cracks or repairs.
