Vintage hand-blown "Fish" (or Axe Head) solifleur vase, designed by pioneering British glassmaker Michael Harris for the renowned Mdina Glass studio in Malta.
This iconic sculptural silhouette is a masterpiece of the mid-to-late 20th-century Studio Glass movement, featuring a heavily cased, thick cobalt blue outer glass "wing" body that perfectly encapsulates a slender, mottled pink and white textured inner core. The inner colors spiral elegantly up through a slender solifleur neck. The piece is heavy, beautifully balanced, and shifts dramatically in tone depending on how the light catches the layered glass.
