Vintage Delft Blue 9.5-inch decorative plate, manufactured by the historic Boch Freres Keramis pottery in La Louviere, Belgium, featuring a beautifully detailed monochrome portrait of an elderly woman wearing spectacles and a traditional bonnet, deeply focused on reading a book.
The central artwork is rendered in deep, crisp cobalt blue transferware against a contrasting creamy white earthenware background. The rim is elegantly framed by a repeating geometric lace and floral motif border.
Turning the plate over reveals the official blue underglaze factory backstamp reading "Boch / La Louviere / Belgium / Delfts". You will also find three distinct stilt marks (small unglazed spots) on the back rim. These are factory kiln scars left behind by the production supports, proving the age and authentic manufacturing process of this vintage piece.
