Vintage African wood carving, masterfully hand-sculpted from a single block of dense regional hardwood, capturing a high-intensity predator-prey dynamic of a slender, spotted cheetah in mid-pounce on a defensive horned gazelle.
It is 21.5 cm tall, 15 cm wide and 6 cm deep, weighing about 350 grams unpacked.
Completely hand-tooled with a smooth, unbranded base, this folk art sculpture masterfully incorporates the natural composition of the wood, showcasing a stunning contrast between the rich, dark heartwood and the bright, golden-brown sapwood running down the reverse leg and base.
It is in very good vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina. No cracks or structural damage. Normal shelf wear on the underside of the base.
