Exquisite hand-painted porcelain cabinet plate from the historic Jean Pouyat factory in Limoges, France, featuring a highly detailed, hand-painted pastoral landscape depicting a charming country cottage, a quaint wooden footbridge over running water, and brilliant autumnal foliage.
This fine porcelain piece is hand-signed on the front lower face by the recognized period studio artisan, Emile. This signature indicates that it is an original, hand-painted creation rather than mass-produced transferware. The meticulous blending of sunset golds, forest greens, and fine detail showcases the peak of Edwardian-era porcelain art execution.
The factory backstamp features the authentic green underglaze factory hallmark: "J.P. / L. FRANCE". The design patent date is clearly stamped with "PAT. JAN. 23 1906" arched above the hallmark, highlighting its unique Art Nouveau era design, and is accompanied by a distinctive handwritten blue cursive "Hand Painted" script, verifying its fine art studio roots.
The plate is 21.5 cm in diameter, weighing about 350 grams unpacked.
CONDITION:
Very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. Beautifully preserved gold trim with minimal handling wear.
