Matching pair of vintage Coco Joe's of Hawaii statues.
Molded from authentic Hapa Wood (a classic composite of resin and compressed wood dust mimicking carved wood), this vintage set from the 1960s/1970s features two of the most iconic rulers in Hawaiian history. Both figurines come with their original, vibrant green biographical labels fully intact on the reverse side, making them an excellent find for collectors of Polynesian culture and tiki style.
Included in this Set:
Queen Kaʻahumanu (Model #26-133): Depicts the favorite and politically powerful wife of King Kamehameha I. She is beautifully detailed carrying a Kāhili (feather standard), a traditional symbol of Hawaiian royalty.
King Kamehameha I (Model #26-134): Depicts the legendary warrior king who unified the Hawaiian islands. He wears his royal Mahiole (feathered helmet) and cloak while holding an ancient Polynesian weapon and a stylized Kūkāʻilimoku (the feather-covered image of his personal war god).
CONDITION:
Good vintage condition with some age-consistent wear. The molded details remain sharp and the original green historical backing labels are wonderfully intact. Please note: There is noticeable surface wear and finish loss on the King Kamehameha statue, specifically a scrape along the top ridge of his feathered helmet and scuffing/finish loss along the front edge of the base (see detailed close-up photos). Priced accordingly for these vintage imperfections.
