A beautiful piece of early 20th-century hand-painted Noritake porcelain dish, featuring a striking art deco design of vibrant autumn oak leaves and acorns nestled against an iridescent orange and brown lusterware glaze. The rim features a unique tri-fold shape with beautifully integrated, cut-out black handles.
The underside is stamped with the highly collectible green Noritake "M in Wreath" backstamp along with "Hand Painted, Made in Japan". The "M" stands for the Morimura Brothers, the company’s legendary founders. Because it is marked "Made in Japan" rather than "Nippon," this piece can be precisely dated to the interwar era, between 1921 and 1940.
