Antique porcelain divided relish or sweetmeat tray manufactured by Carl Tielsch (C.T.) in Altwasser, Silesia, Germany. This piece dates between 1890 and 1935 based on the dual factory marks stamped on the underside.
The dish features two generous serving compartments separated by an elegant, ornate molded center loop handle. The interior is decorated with a vibrant, delicate transfer pattern of blue wildflowers, white daisies, and wild meadow grasses. The most striking feature is the heavily encrusted, sponge-textured gold-gilt border that frames the entire piece, which remains remarkably bright and intact. At nearly 1 kilogram, this is a heavy, substantial heirloom centerpiece.
BACKSTAMPS:
Features the blue Carl Tielsch stylized Eagle stamp ("C.T."), the circular red "Made in Germany" export mark, and hand-painted red pattern registration number 10068.
CONDITION:
Very good antique condition: No chips, cracks, hairline fractures, repairs, or heavy surface scratches.
Gold Gilt & Trim: Well-preserved with minimal rubbing or shelf wear along the scalloped edges.
Manufacturing Quirk: Features a tiny, authentic antique dark iron speck/kiln firing blemish under the glaze on the central handle. This is an original trait from the historic brick-kiln firing process and is not post-production damage.
