CONDITION (Please Read):
This piece is in good vintage condition with no post-factory cracks, structural repairs, or chips from use. However, it features several distinct factory-production characteristics typical of mid-century GDR manufacturing:
1. Glaze Skipping / Cold Peeling: There is a rough area of original factory glaze skipping along the lower back edge of the gentleman's blue coat where the blue glaze did not fully adhere to the porcelain body during firing (see close-up photos).
2. Firing Vents: There are original factory-pierced steam vent pinholes on the back (on the coat, bodice, and lower scrollwork) used to safely relieve kiln pressure during production.
3. Base Wobble: The bottom rim exhibits a slight, typical factory wobble when placed on hard, flat surfaces due to uneven glaze pooling or cooling shrinkage. It easily stabilizes with miniature felt pads or museum wax.
Priced competitively to reflect these original manufacturing quirks!
